Wanza "Marie" Holland passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 six days after her 101st birthday.

Beloved wife of the late Lowell E. Holland; loving mother of Ron (Sherry) Holland, Sylvia (Larry) Turnbough, and the late Wanza (John) Borgmeyer; dear grandmother of Jason (Brandy) Pedroley, Angie (Jim) Bennett, Chris (Carrie) Borgmeyer, Christy (Brad) Tucker, John Borgmeyer, Scott (Tara) Holland, Lauren (Gregg) Eide, Andrea (Eric) Stranghoener, Melanie (Brian) Heitmann, Cari (Darron) Hunt, and Kate (Charles) Jimerson; great-grandmother of 22; great-great-grandmother of 8; dear aunt and friend to many.

Marie was born November 13, 1923 in Jesup, Arkansas to James and Bama Arnold. She was married to Lowell Holland on January 5, 1946. Lowell preceded Marie in death on September 30, 2010. Prior to his passing, Marie cared for him tirelessly to keep him comfortably at home.

Marie loved to cook. She made amazing cakes giving her the name "Grandma Cake". She loved making Christmas Cookies and homemade candies. She was also known for her potato salad. In addition, she loved crafting. She made quilts for each of her children and grandchildren, she crocheted, embroidered, and especially loved making Christmas ornaments. Finally she enjoyed gardening and took great pride in her flowers.

Visitation Wednesday, November 27, 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service 12:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St. Ann). Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice.
