Schmidt, Wayne J. passed away on Thursday, April 25, at the age of 97

Beloved husband of the late Regina (Buss) Schmidt, to whom he had been married for 63 years. Loving father of Randy and Sheldon Schmidt of St. Ann and Andrea (Robert) Tarter of Fisherville, KY.

Wayne was a 1944 graduate of Belleville Township High School and a long-time parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish (St. Gregory Church) in St. Ann. He was retired from the U.S. Government Civil Service and was an avid golfer, baseball and softball player and won many medals in the St. Louis Senior Olympics. Wayne served in the U.S. Merchant Marine and the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War.

Mr. Schmidt gifted his remains to the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
