Collier's Funeral Home History

Our Founders

Collier's Funeral Home was founded by the late Sheldon C. "Pete" and Bernice M. Collier in 1946. Mr. Collier was licensed as an embalmer and funeral director in 1929 at the age of 20. After serving with other St. Louis area funeral homes, he established his own firm on St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann, Missouri, where the business remained for 45 years.

1946 - Original Location

Our original location from 1946 to 1991 was at 10123 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann, Missouri. Pete and Bernice raised their family on the second level of the funeral home, four daughters and two sons. Their sons, Thomas and Robert, assisted Pete in running the funeral home on St. Charles Rock Road.

Second Generation

In 1991, Thomas E. and Robert E. Collier, sons of the founders, relocated the family business to a new 15,000 square foot facility located at 3400 N. Lindbergh Boulevard in Bridgeton, Missouri.

Third Generation

Collier’s Funeral Home is now in its third generation. Thomas E. Collier's son, Thomas M. Collier, and daughter, Colleen M. Collier Woerheide, continue the family tradition. The Collier family's commitment to serving St. Louis Metropolitan Area families with dignity and compassion continues for over 67 years.

We continue to serve our community with the same individual, caring service that has been our tradition, and we stand ready to assist you during your time of need. Our goal is to serve you and your family by providing you with the many options available, so that you can make an informed decision that best suits your family. Because we are a family business, the trust and compassion we show are built upon three generations of experience and tradition.
